The touchscreen is super responsive, though one caveat we must mention is the lack of a matte finish to the display. This makes for a distracting glare in bright lighting situations. The overall brightness levels are excellent, however, and in indoor settings the screen shows rich colour rendering and impressive contrast. The Ultra HD 2160p resolution screen really does give you the ultimate viewing.
A nice feature of this Inspiron 15 7000 is the decent amount of ports. The SD card reader is useful if shooting on MicroSD cards, and with several USB ports, and HDMI and headphone/microphone combo port, you are pretty well set, though it is lacking a Thunderbolt port. There is no wrist rest for the user, and the trackpad is on the right hand side. This will immediately put off left handed users, and it will take some getting used to. However, it could prove useful when editing video. It leaves the whole keyboard unobstructed for use while you keep your fingers on the pad for quicker gestures. The trackpad itself is also super responsive, with a light up number pad for use when you need it.
Whilst all of this might take some getting used to, there is a method to their madness. Normally we wouldn’t do this, but we have to talk about the ConceptD Ezel.
