Why can’t Zoom detect the speakers on a Mac?

This error often occurs when you are in the middle of a call on Zoom.

It can happen every few minutes, while things can be working normally in-between.

This error is occurring on Apple Mac computers that have recently been updated to Mac OS Catalina 10.15.

In this update, Apple added several security features that help increase the privacy of your data.

However, sometimes these features can block certain applications to access your device’s speaker and microphone. This can especially happen if the application is not up to date.
