Disney Plus on Chromecast: No sound

There could be multiple reasons why you are getting no sound on Disney+ via Chromecast. If you are using a TV with built-in Chromecast, then the manufacturer might not have updated it to the latest firmware. This could result in malfunctioning of Disney+.

However, if you are using a stand-alone Google Chromecast device, this issue could occur if the Disney+ app and Chromecast are not running the latest software updates. Developers such as Google and Disney are continuously releasing new software updates to improve the user experience and solve bugs such as this one. So, it is always a good idea to keep your devices and apps up to date.

How to fix Disney Plus no sound on Chromecast

If you are running Disney+ on a Chromecast that is built-in into your TV, you need to check if it is up to date. To do that, download the Google Home app on your phone. Make sure that the TV and the phone are on the same Wi-Fi network. The Chromecast should be detected in the app; there you can touch the settings icon to see the firmware version. The latest firmware version (as of now) is 1.44. If yours is older than that, then check for updates on your TV.

If you are using a stand-alone Chromecast device, check the firmware version by the method as mentioned above. Update the Chromecast if it is not already running the latest version. Also, update the Disney+ app, if needed.

If the problem persists, unplug the Chromecast and wait for 10 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.
