Fix 2 – Reconnect your Sky Q Box to Broadband

Disconnecting and reconnecting to your broadband will re-establish the connection and should help your Sky Q box recognise your network.

Follow these steps to re-establish the connection:

  1. Access the Sky menu.
  2. Navigate to “Settings.”
  3. Click on “Status.”
  4. Scroll down to “Network connection.”
  5. Choose “Network setup.”

For Sky Broadband:

  1. Opt for the ‘Connect to Sky Broadband WiFi’ option.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to access your Sky router and press down the WPS button for a few seconds (located on the side of the router).
  3. Upon completion, your TV screen should indicate a connected broadband, and your Sky Q Box should display a green light.

For Alternative Wireless Broadband:

  1. Choose ‘Connect to WiFi from a different broadband provider.’
  2. Locate your broadband from the local connections list.
  3. Select your broadband, input the password.
  4. Your Sky Q Box will connect to your broadband, and a status report will show two ticks next to your router and the internet.

For Alternative Wired Broadband:

  1. Ensure your Ethernet cable is connected from your broadband router to the Sky Q Box.
  2. Select ‘Connect to your router using a wired connection.’
  3. Your Sky Q Box will establish a connection through the Ethernet cable.
  4. Return to the Settings menu.
  5. On your TV remote, press 001, then press the select button. The secret installer menu should appear.
  6. Navigate to the Network page, disable both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless connections, and confirm. Your Sky Q Box will now exclusively use the Ethernet connection for broadband.
